Overview
"Through the power of crystals and the purity of color." Simard Bilodeau Contemporary Shanghai presents the first solo exhibition of emerging Chinese painter, Ying Jingjing.

Ying Jingjing’s artwork contains powerful expressions of abstraction through the strength and sharpness of crystals. There are two exclusive elements in Jingjing’s artwork. The first is traditional ink painting. The other is the portrayal of irregular vector sections of materials derived from modern industrial civilization (glass, stainless steel, crystal and diamond). The former feature lies in the application of classical oriental ink painting. The latter is evidence of the artist’s current social climate, in which life is overwhelmed by the products of modern industrial civilization.
